so, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say my report is about an inch off.

LOL its not hard to visually see the difference between a half inch and an inch and a half, without measuring.

There were lots of precip holes with other nearby places under good bands. I noticed that over here too. It was generally really ragged and inconsistent in our area.

To be fair, it looks like this one busted in both directions up and down the coast. They worked with the information they had. This is a humbling field for sure.

Very true but they blew it. .5 and I have 2.4 with hours to go

Perhaps you would like to try your hand at predicting the rest of the snow events this winter? If you had a better understanding of the incredible complexity of these types of systems, you might not be so quick to bash the mets. ;)

I did think, when I left this morning, that a half inch was low based on what I saw on the driveway. I’ll roll with what he measured tho since he did actually measure and I did not.

This is why you don’t outsource measuring lol.

Congrats to the (subforum) southerners that are cashing in today.

I need to teach him to slant stick ;)

Speaking of that, check out my latest poem in the resurrected epic Tenman thread. Dedicated to RR. ;)

Definitely odd -- I'd think most guys would typically tend to exaggerate their measurements. :D

Despite all day mood flakes maybe 1-2 inches max across the Richmond metro. We are south and east but not THAT far south and east, so we too are missing out on the bigger ticket items this season. Looks like a very solid snowfall in southside Virginia, and perhaps now into Tidewater

I was gonna say if you’re going to outsource, give it to minimap. Then you have the cuteness factor when she comes in and says “Mommy mommy three inches of snow!”. Of course only .5 has fallen.

Next time, I will use her instead :)
