Cobalt
Nice post @cae I'm heading off to bed right now, after homework/of course procrastination. Radar doesn't look as anemic as I'd expected it to be. Glanced outside, and snow, albeit light, is very much falling. Looks like a dusting on some surfaces right now. Still relatively warm, 34F here. RichmondTarHeel
What’s going on? I know this isn’t the 1-3” we were hoping for, but it’s currently snowing outside and everything is white in Fairfax. Where is everyone?

cae
I'm still up too, but going to bed. There's a nice coating here as well. I know I shouldn't get my hopes up, but the trends on the HRRR are encouraging.

SoCoWx
Anyone got any idea why AccuWeather would be lowering their totals for Richmond? It was 1-3 inches this morning, 1-2 inches this afternoon, and now they’ve reduced it to “a coating to an inch.”

MD Snow
Yeah, I don’t trust them but when I went to bed at 10pm both the hrrr and rap didn’t have me getting any snow at all. Now both have me getting a half inch. Light snow and 32 edit : 12k nam has a stripe of 1” totals running north to south from dc to Baltimore. I’m thinking this may have to do with the coastal to our north being weaker than modeled and moving out quicker than thought.

MD Snow
Just for kicks...the German icon model (I know) now gives areas just to the southeast of dc 1.5”.
Hurricanegiants
The radar seems rather “robust” towards the southwest. Robust for a 1 inch snowstorm that is. But it seems to be filling in nicely.

Yeah, doesn’t seem like much but considering all models trended towards a complete shutout yesterday this would be a big win in my book if some of us could eek out an inch.
