TellicoWx
Went back and looked...PAH original forcast was 1"-2", so overachieving there is an understatement.

Models usually struggle up here w/ these events. Always possible this just runs out of gas. Jeff mentioned some energy transfer taking place with this to the Piedmont/coast. That could be part of it. I think we do ok up here. I have been saying 1-1.5" and I still feel good about that number.
tnwxwatcher
Down to 32° here in East Knoxville... Humidity 67%...that has been rising steadily with temp steadily falling Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

John1122
28 degrees here. Now to wait the next 12 hours and hope things don't fall apart. If I can cross 2 inches it will be my largest snow event since I believe March 2016.
TellicoWx
Looking back thru each model run, I can't find one that comes close to showing the scenario now over SW KY area. Makes me believe all models are in a reaction type mode, and this will be a now cast event across the forum.

Do you think the models over played the 700mb drying? Also was wondering your thoughts on the front slowing to a crawl?

Ranger
Do any of you think once the front hits the southern part of the Plateau that the moisture will substantially subside getting into Chattanooga and north GA?

With the SW flow that area will hopefully get ample moisture pumped into the area. This isn't a typical clipper where the southern valley gets for sure downsloped. John1122
The RGEM shifted it's snow hole to NE Knox, but I'd probably ignore that. Rest of the area looks solid with 2-4 inches from Western areas to NE areas.

I think its getting safer to say 2-4 for the State of TN, any exceptions are likely to be few spots along southern border where could be less, and Western may over perform. PowellVolz
Just thinking about how moisture slides up the valley in a return flow situation that usually hurts us when temps are boarder line may actually help us this time. .

TellicoWx
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but GEM is also known as GDPS, and RGEM is RDPS. Some people call the GEM, the CMC, but that's just the name of the orginaziation.
