NorthShoreWx
8.5" total here as of 2PM. We've basically accumulated nothing with light to very light snow falling since noon. The wind is another story...lots of blowing snow. Basically we got caught in a dry slot between bands. Also, the snow on the ground is rather dense; i.e., the wind is really packing it together. We did catch the 3"/hour band earlier and it looks to be ready to head back over us this afternoon, but it will have to stick around a while to undo the couple of hours + that we have lost. A lot of the best snow growth hasn't happened until the past few hours. Winds have slightly backed off since this morning out here too, when snow was getting eroded in a lot of spots with huge drifts.

Amped
Chill out, there are odd snow totals even in events that don't have 60mph winds. This is not surprising at all, and there is no conspiracy to under-measure the snow.

Should be minimum 9” NYC I think is off a bit. There were 2 hours where the LE at NYC seemed low. One hour they reported only 0.04 and another was low. I'm guessing they maybe were .75-.76 at 18Z vs the .64 they reproted. So maybe they had 9 so off by about 1 inch. JFK seemed off by way more than that though. CPcantmeasuresnow
Central Park 7.8 inches as of 1 PM update. 10 looking very possible. I'm not down there but it sounds like a fair measurement, maybe a tad low from the radar I've observed all day but close I suppose. Anyone near there that can chime in? 5.2 at LGA at the same time, now that can't be right. If one gets it right the other F's it up. I realize it's windy but accurate measurements should not be this hard.
