I really thought we has a chance at the deform band this time.  I think it ends up west of us...yet again.

The 850/700 lows and other general banding fcsting rules suggested to me last night SW CT down through NYC and SI was a good spot where a strong band may setup

From early this morning.... My brother and I can't get enough...

To those getting shafted... I feel for ya... being on the south shore we experience that very often... and no doubt will again this year... So I must enjoy while I can...

By the way, that pic is me standing in the back yard. There are trees not visible like 100' straight ahead in that pic.

That is awesome.  I've seen that once in my life for about 30 minutes on 12/30/2000.  Even with all the huge storms since then nothing has come close.  Take it all in and enjoy.

At least it doesn’t look like we’re staring down a bad subsidence area. Radar here is lightening up somewhat but it’s still essentially a whiteout where I am.

65KT ship report.

Current surface observations show sustained winds up to 50 kt right along the mid Atlc coast with gusts exceeding 60 kt. In addition, a ship report from 1000 UTC this morning indicated 65 kt in the outer NT2 waters to the SE of Cape Hatteras with seas to 23 ft. The last NCEP surface analysis already had the system at hurricane force, and the models still show further intensification as the low starts racing off to the NE today
