KBUFs surprice LE event...enjoy!

I was just at the Medical Campus and drove all the way up to North Campus. Light snow. Maybe an inch at North Street and less than a half inch at North Campus, which is pretty much in line with KBUF's forecast - the weak band is already crapping out.

3 inches in Depew. My issue with the NWS lately is it seems none of the interior offices communicate with one another. Example is today...AFD text states it is a lake band and will be stationary through the afternoon, special weather statement refers to it as a snow squall that will pass and the snow map shows less than one inch and we've had 3. How can we possibly not think that they are not competent recently?

Moderate to at times heavy snow at my office in Lancaster last 4 hours. Difficult to measure with high winds, but looks like about 4 inches new. Heaviest snow last 15 minutes...visibility less than 500 feet. Blizzard conditions.

Dude we’re snowing at 2”/hr with complete total whiteouts, worst weather of year. This is great!
