i'm pretty sure my area has exceeded a ft+ but measuring is quite impossible but judging from some of the drifts, we're probably somewhere in between 13"-16" for the event so far so I can definitely see 2ft totals before all is said and done,  I have some drifts approaching 3.5', with some spots almost bare, as winds continue to howl!

East end of the lake is gonna start firing on all cylinders right now as visibility is reduced to 0 at times as the sun goes down, things can and will become treacherous, if there not already!

I had 4 inches overnight then not much snow fell this morning. The snow picked up this afternoon but the consistency is so fine I don’t think more than 2 inches has accumulated. I just picked my wife up at work off of East Taft Rd. and it was snowing heavily there. Taft Rd. was a mess, 3 or 4 cars were off the road.

Thank god for Lake Ontario if you like this kind of ****! And I do. This is close to what they experienced a few counties from the ocean in Connecticut and Massachusettes. Nasty stuff! Probably a foot or so for Phoenix. Hard to measure.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT/...
8 pm update... Heavy lake snow bands continue to hammer the
Thruway corridor this evening. Snowfall rates of at least an
inch per hour have been common. GOES-East and regional radar
loops show both a connection to maritime wrap-around moisture in
the mid-levels and upstream Georgian Bay moisture in the lower
levels. This type of pattern is often a recipe for heavy lake
snows in the Syracuse area.

High resolution guidance and model sounding profiles would imply
a continuation of heavy lake snows through late evening, with a
gradual lessening of intensity after midnight, as the inversion
lowers, and the boundary layer dries out a bit. By this time,
though, many parts of Onondaga county will have seen 24-36 hour
storm totals of 1-2 feet. Obviously, all lake-effect warnings
and advisories will remain in tact.

With regards to the extreme cold, no change in thinking here, as
surface temperatures generally range from just above, to about
10 below zero (and locally colder) overnight. Readings will be
very cold again Saturday, barely eclipsing the zero mark in many
spots. Wind chills will continue to dip into the 15-30 below
range.

I believe it. It's Cray out there. Except for the whiners. I've made a list and I'm checking it twice... Satan Claus will be coming to town. ;)
