mjd_tech
Snow reported in Lynchburg VA. That's about 150 miles from the coast. Virginia Beach rains. Is this thing moving west?

This storm is more of a hybrid so the comparisons end there. What 1978 did was get cutoff from the flow. Yeah, different animal.
Greg
I do believe that there will be some small suprizes with this storm. Just not sure who exactly gets the primary "Death Band" if you will, but final track and wave action definatlely will be interesting.
Baroclinic Zone
Much better dead zone disco than last nights. Gearing up for a day at home working and watching the snow dump.

Granted it's on it's own but we are entering the maturation process of this storm so we will see. I'm pretty curious to see how the 00z runs play out. It's a fascinating storm. Where does one see the RPM? Did someone post it?

I don’t know the complexity of met terms, it just makes sense in my head but I also can get too emotional....it’s a serious time consuming hobby where many hours are spent dodging ghosts while looking to mount the white unicorn. ROOSTA
In many ways, synoptic wise inclusive, combing a+b should result in =c. Think again. IMO we be in uncharted territory in ways one has to think of the results unfathomable, what curve in this event that can't be forecast. Uncharted Dark Territory! Models get one into the ballpark...5-6"/hr rates, gusts as high akin to a CAT3 hurricane. Possibly over-performing in what is forecasted.

You can ask hubbdave. Don't want to side-track too much. SREFs should be out and the 00z NAM should be running now.

wxsniss
One thing the 0z suite might clarify: for the RGEM so consistently dry on its own, this will either be a crowning storm or an epic fail.
