Awesome, been a long time since I've seen a Sundog at sunrise/set. (That is if those aren't products of the picture)

You could see the ice crystals shimmering in the sunlight. It was a spectacular sight in person, and wish I could have captured how it truly looked. Really made it feel like being in an arctic location.
nwohweather
Well for Toledoans the 13 day streak ends today setting a record. This winter has definitely came in roaring, albeit I’d like a little more snow
Chicago WX
The period from December 26 through January 6 had a Bluto Blutarsky mean average temperature of 0.0˚ at IKK. The first 6 days of this January came in with a mean average temp of -3˚. At midnight tonight, IKK snuck in another below zero minimum temperature, so going back to 12/26, that makes for 12 out of the 13 days with a temp below zero (12/29 failed). For comparison sake, the cold winter season of 2014/15 had a total of 13 days below zero...the historic season of 2013/14 had 28 days. At 1:00 AM on Christmas Day, the temperature dipped to 19˚, and has remained below 20˚ for 318 consecutive hours (through today at 7:00 AM). Daily max/min temperatures at IKK from 12/25 through this morning... 12/25: 20˚/4˚...12/26: 5˚/-6˚...12/27: 5˚/-10˚...12/28: 14˚/-7˚...12/29: 14˚/8˚...12/30: 14˚/-1˚...12/31: 6˚/-4˚ 1/1: -5˚/-14˚...1/2: 6˚/-17˚...1/3: 17˚/-4˚...1/4: 9˚/-9˚...1/5: 8˚/-15˚...1/6: 7˚/-15˚...1/7: TBD/-1˚

I wouldn’t put it past, given what the pattern has shown in the last 40 some days. Winter 13/14 2.0???
