12z Euro through day 6, most of this falls as rain Thursday-Saturday.

Figures that the heaviest rains will fall over the areas with the greatest snowpack along the coast. Probably a good time to make sure the basement pumps are in working order.

That would be a bad as modeled, but given the 12-24 hr changes on the model I have a feeling this is not the final solution....

Wow, that has flooding written all over it. Hopefully the ground can thaw out a little bit before hand. If not it’s going to run off and cause major flooding. Here’s a pic I took earlier of the ice on the pond near me. Somone cut a hole with a chainsaw to ice fish. The ice is at least 6”. The hole had refrozen to the point I was easily able to walk on it too!!

Absolutely not.

Half of that from NWNJ into Western CT back into the HV is ICE.

Pull up the high res 2 M temps at hour 120 and 126 an overlay what falls and see what`s " rain " there.

I'm counting freezing rain as rain.

You rain at 40 as per Euro and not 55 , you will get some help with the pack. And whatever melts and is standing freezes by Monday Morning.

Looks like a mess.

Very dangerous conditions next few hours especially with the sun going down. Bad timing too, wouldn't be surprised to see a huge uptick in accidents.

most of the main roads have been pre- treated with liquid ice melt - local side roads have not in many towns...…...

Guess you guys can`t see those maps , it`s a cold rain changing to snow all the way to the coast with accumulating snow in far NWNJ into the HV ( even onto Long Island - Bluewave is a snow magnet )  and a snowstorm from the Catskills N .

The coast is going to rain , but the LHV should pay attention to the weekend system.

Plus an accumulation of regular salt - the roads around NE NJ (including side roads) are all white with salt and salt residue.  Hopefully this does not allow falling rain to freeze.

Most of the snowpack with the exception of the larger piles and drifts will be gone by Monday morning. Widespread 50's on Friday with heavy rain and fog. Your area of CNJ will make a run on 60.
