I’ll go with 1.1” as well, was a little over an inch when it decreased to flurries. 8.6” for the season.

Not bad, but I thought we'd get a bit more.

If that next week storm misses, looks like this might be the winter of small events, unless we get a Feb 2006 style turn around.

Didn't Dec 2005 have a bunch of small events for us, and then January went mild and then we had the one big storm in February?

Wasn’t what I was hoping for and an underperformer but whatever. The writing for this was on the wall this morning when the snow kept trying to settle south and east into NJ and out at sea, was actually apparent last night in the short range models emphasizing central NJ more.

Why can't we compromise? Nickle and dime events plus a big blizzard.

Sure you get that some winters. I guess it depends.

Typically you get the smaller events when it's very cold and the big one when you're about to switch back to milder weather, although that's not always the case either.

Southern Nassau too. A whole Big 1.6” in wantagh. Better then the city, just slightly. I’m happy I got my snow removal hours. These little events are great for me. Overtime with minimal effort!

lmao JFK 0.6" really?

It was like twice that at least, although either way it wasn't much.

Even on the S/E events JFK undermeasures lol.

JFK 0.6 sounds a bit off, but since it was such a small event, even if they halved the actual amount, it still wasn't much.

2" here- i have to say, I really miss these small nickle and dime events. rather have more of these than just one big blizzard for the season

keep em coming

Temp PLUMMETING here with the snow cover - down to 10

Problem is as soon as the sun comes out all the snow is gone, regardless of what the temp is.

Didn't have any snowcover anywhere besides the grass and car tops everything else blew away.

This kind of snow is better for rural areas, doesn't last beyond a day for urban or semi-urban areas.

Wow, look at the ocean effect streamer. The fish are getting dumped on right now. Too bad there isn’t an island out there. It would do extremely well this week

I know there have been some events where those make it onshore, but I don't remember the last one.

I wonder if Long Island would actually get more snow if it was further southeast.....

No multi-band streamers out there tonight.  That one means business.  Maybe some ships will come into NY Harbor covered in fluff (and freezing spray if the wind really gets going).
