Drastically different look up here on the 10z run compared to 9z. A little Xmas reminder to me as to why I hate nowcasting with it. Explain? Even in Maine, it's organizing now to crush much closer to the coast when the past several days it was in the mountains and southern Quebec. Biggest bust will likely be southern Quebec into N.NH and extreme NW ME where yesterday's runs were showing up to an inch of QPF and now down under half an inch with that east jog. These shifts should give Dryslot a very Merry Christmas, haha. I didn’t care about the QPF up there. It was the H5-H7 look. You guys should be pulling the ratios up there. moneypitmike
LOL--the entire I-91 that BOX shows as the jackpot is the area where it's not snowing. Nice returns to the west and east. Whoops. I hear Messenger..... 21.

moneypitmike
Another nice burst, but it's been 'showery' since I've been awake, nothing sustained.
BuildingScienceWx
That back-side heavy band just rotated in. Heavy snow/ice pellet mix, winds increased as well. Ground still brown, should change very quickly. Wow.

I personally just feel it often struggles even early on in developing situations. Well, it was showing me missing to the west of things last night which was pretty disheartening. BOX's map doesn't reflect it. But the radar is showing bust unless the band to the west shifts east. It's only making very slow progress. With BOX having the storm winding down in western zones at 9ish, big old bust is possible.
backedgeapproaching
Man, its pouring snow right now with the far western bands in ENY/SVT 1" in 15 minutes. Just super high ratio fluff-has to be 25-1 or 30-1.
Johnno
I’m the heavy band now but we seem to have lost any good flakes, almost sounds like sleet pounding.
moneypitmike
Okay--the bands now only about a mile west of me. It's go time. Now or never. 20.9*

LSC97wxnut
Merry Christmas to all! My iffy Taylor home thermometer says 29.8 here in Newtonville. Not quite sure what is falling though. Might be a sleet/freezing rain mix?
