powderfreak
Maybe not the population centers but this storm has a pretty impressive aerial extent of verified warning criteria snows from upstate NY through W.MA, and up into VT/NH/ME away from coastal sections. Big area of 7"+ snows. In Maine only the mountains, and maybe the north, approached warning criteria. Based on the P&C snowfall predictions (Farmington's were 2"/9"/11" for "at least"/"most likely"/"possible") it definitely underperformed here. My place had 12 hours of tinyflakes for 3" of 8:1 powder, followed by 12 hours of IP/ZR and some albino poppyseeds to add another 0.2" of light crust from about 0.06" LE. The p-type switch occurred about 5 PM yesterday with temps in the upper teens, so the midlevel warmth pushed a long way inland. LE came to 0.42", considerably less than expected though Oceanstwx warned of that possibility prior to the storm's arrival, and 3.2" total accum. It's very early in the game, but so far LEW and Raymond are leading the foothills, same as the past 2 good years. (15-16 stunk for all.)
