Ger
I swear the salt they use on the roads is getting better and better. That's technology for you. Snowing prettily in NE DC
caviman2201
The difference in the stickage to the roads between E and W of the fall line is stark... which seems odd to me given that all areas have been cold and all were well below freezing all night. csnavywx
Is anybody still getting freezing drizzle/snow grain mix on the south side of DC? I see Quantico has 3SM in GS, but wanted to know if anybody was getting freezing drizzle in that band.

RockabilyJunior
The snow Wednesday night was beautiful. Everything stuck immediately, the flakes were dry and fluffy. We probably picked up about 0.5 inches here. I'm so far liking the look of this one. This has easily been the best week for snow since the Blizzard. Also rates have really picked up again. The grass is nearly covered so I'd guess we have 0.5-0.8 inches here so far.
ErinInTheSky
It's quite icy over here. Just a steady snow/ice/freezing rain/rimed flakes drizzle. Every time I step outside, I get something new.

There's no better sound in the winter, than that desperate, frantic sound of tires frantically spinning in the ice and snow as another hapless commuter tries to get to work on time, and fails. I love that sound so much! I wish to g-d that I could download it off of iTunes!

Cobalt
Not over yet, but after measuring (it was very tough to measure) I got 0.1" of snow/graupel. Weird event, but I love the cold. We haven't had this kind of cold in December for a while, and this week has been perfect for cold and snow.
RevWarReenactor
Roads were wet at first, odd being 24 degrees out, but once they caved, they caved fast, things are bad. Most cars are crawling and saw a couple accidents.

RevWarReenactor
Yikes! That ain't pretty. Really do feel bad for those people. But this is one of those days you just don't go to work. Unplanned last minute storms, roads not treated, hitting during rush hour. All it takes is a half an inch.
