coastalplainsnowman
South shore Nassau/Suffolk border has been unusually light throughout the event. Reading about ripping in Commack, ripping in Long Beach, ripping in Merrick. It's been light here almost the entire time. Talking like a true non-met here, but the on the NWS radar loop the greens turned to blues soon as they got overhead. Side streets were never more than 5% slush 95% wet. Ultimately probably end up about 2.5 on grass but with compaction not more than 2 out there right now. Dec. 9th so I'll take it but still, odd compared to reports to the west and east.. hooralph
Nothing beats a pre-Christmas storm. Especially a Saturday, with all of the snow falling during waking hours. Measured a perfect 4” on our benches about 9 PM.

Morris
Lot of fun driving down from Rockland in the snow tonight. Snow accumulated on the Palisades and it wasn't plowed properly. It's amazing that once you got onto the GWB, everything was suddenly melted.
