Eskimo Joe
Western edge of the precip has been straddling I-81 for the past hour to hour and a half...the one nice thing about a SW -> NE event is that it's slow to end. Should give some great pics for everyone right at dusk with Christmas lights up.

BlizzardNole
Very nice pics, PSU -- you still got your hummingbird feeder up eh? 3" on the nose here in Germantown.
Kleimax
Looks like the Westminster Death Band is finally starting to spread eastward. Noticing some larger flakes now with Mod snow

EastCoast NPZ
Have kept the light snow a lot longer than I expected, but too warm to overcome the light rates. Grass and bushes are whitened, but nothing else. Had this occurred a night, I might have been able eke an inch out of this.
Sparky
Feels good to walk out on the deck bare chested in 26F with snow falling on your pecs. Mappy should try it.
Ger
Definitely better dendrites now (Capitol Hill). Probably an inch, 1.5 or so. Hoping the decent rates keep up thru 6 so we can get the sidewalks at least covered
snjókoma
If those bands move 5 miles east - I'm going to get destroyed. Right now, -SN but the best looking flakes of the day (as usual with the last hurrah).
WeatherShak
Starting to rip pretty good with nickel size flakes inside Prince William National Park.
ErinInTheSky
If this band stays much longer, I'm going to break 4" in this storm easy. Sidewalks are white now 34dbz right over my house.
Cobalt
Band moving in right now. Huge flakes/heavy snow. Visibility is getting lower as I type. Sweet ending!
Kleimax
Just measured about 2.5 inches. Will measure again after this band in a while

Laytonsville and Damascus probably will push 4.5"

Bob Chill
Going out with a bang. Best rates and dendrites to cap it all off. Mod snow but not heavy. I don't anyone got into true +sn/quarter mile vis but this ending is a treat. Storm should end up meeting or exceeding realistic expectations for most. ErinInTheSky
@WxWatcher007 Well said. I was gonna be real bummed out if, after moving from Louisiana in January, Louisiana ended up getting more snow than me! THIS is why I was excited to move here. snjókoma
What was that storm in 2015 where the N/W suburbs got into a megaband for 4 hours and got like 10" before it scooted east? February 26th? The current radar reminds me of that.

Half our snow was actually The year before had the blizzard, but misery bookended it. The year before, it sucked until we got on an epic heater. I don't know about you, but measurable snow on 12/9, my first Dec snow since being here is wonderful. 72 hours ago this was a pipe dream. Go outside, do a 4 mile jebwalk, and just enjoy what it is to be alive and healthy and happy. I can't believe it's been this long since we had a real December snow. I think the last time was Dec 2013, and even then not everyone got much. Same with late December 2012 (I think?). Before that you'd have to go all the way back to December 2009. NorthArlington101
Patchy sections of the sidewalks are slowly being covered. Kind of in between two bands but this day has been fully redeemed. Very happy.

Not sure if we're talking about the same storm, but CAD along with heavy banding brought about 6-10" of snow for us and points East before turning to ice/freezing rain

I saw a PSU post this morning saying he thought they were in trouble Congrats everyone I can't break character. It's been working.
