Finally getting into something other than mood flurries. Ground surfaces, absent streets and sidewalks, caking a bit. Eyeballing, maybe a half-inch? Since I have to be out and about tonight, and am flying out tomorrow, I'm not exactly rooting for a dumping. It's an early-December accumulating snow, however light it ends up being -- and around here that can bode well for the rest of the winter. '02, '09 immediately come to mind. I'm sure there are early December events that heralded bust winters, too. But selective memory is an underrated quality.

If the balls are white, it's snow grains or grapple not sleet.  Sleet is the color of your ice cube in the fridge.  Usually, in a case like this that means your vertical motion has weakened/most times when the intensity picks up you go back to pure snow.
