John1122
Still probably an hour or hour and a half of potential cooling left and I'm at 1 degree right now. Not sure I remember getting below 0 without at least an inch of snow on the ground but may get there this morning.
Jed33
Hit 3 this AM at the house. The amazing stretch of freezing and below continues. It will be 7 days this evening at 8PM. This will be the 2nd longest consecutive number of days below freezing only exceeded in 2010.
BlunderStorm
Impressively it fell to -6 supposedly according to my weather station. The clear skies and snow on the ground pushed it to negative temperatures, very possibly causing the lowest temperature of 2018. As of now it's looking like the high today will be 15 or 16. Wow!
John1122
I ended at -2 this morning, I was also below 0 this day in 2014 and followed it up by being well below 0 again the next day in 2014. After that we warmed up and were having mid 60s and thunderstorms within a week but it got very cold again late month. Currently 22 with a dp of -6. May make a run at below 0 again tonight if the flow doesn't turn sw before daybreak. 8 consecutive days below freezing. 14 days in a row with a high in the 30s or colder. 1/2 inch of snow to show for it. Jed33
Dewpoints are noticeably lower this afternoon than at any time during this cold spell. Most places in middle and east TN have subzero dewpoints at 3PM this afternoon. Many are between -5 and -10! If winds go calm, the temp should definitely plummet after sunset. If clouds stay away and wind remains calm, tonight might be the coldest night of this entire arctic regime!
John1122
Temp fell like a rock all evening. 6 degrees currently. Not sure if I'll stay decoupled and keep dropping or if the encroaching warmth will make it here before morning. It's underway in Crossville, they are in the mid teens right now. John1122
Mostly cloudy and 30 with a dp of 7. These clouds moved in early and prevented the 36 degree high forecast but they may also inhibit much dropping after dark.

John1122
One of the large creeks by my house has 6 inches of ice thickness. People were walking on it without even a single crack on Saturday.
Jed33
Warmed up overnight to 33 last night around 9 PM. Currently 35 degrees. Still managed to spend the equivalent of 9 days and about 2 hrs, at or below freezing. Was literally freezing since last year! Haha. An incredible stretch of cold weather in any given year, even the coldest ones.
John1122
Just cracked 40. First time out of the 30s since December 23rd. Amazing stretch of cold that could have been historic if we'd gotten snow cover.
John1122
I couldn't manage to be cold like normal the other day when the precip arrived but tonight I'm exceeding expectations. Currently 39 degrees with a predicted low of 48.

John1122
Euro looks like it's gonna follow the GFS with the more positive tilt/northern trend. The storm signal is still there on all models though. That's the key here. Track will be all over the place over the next week most likely.
