clskinsfan
Cutoff is basically the same on the Euro and GFS. Not great for those of us out west. Maybe a roadtrip into the city on Saturday is in order.

Yeah, I was driving and gave Mappy a quick response before I hit the old lady who had no business getting in my way in that crosswalk!

H2O
I'm with @mappy I've lost count the # of times there's been a storm like this with iffy temps. My area always looks great and unless I get rates it either white rains or melts on contact. Very skeptical and thats because I know my climo

I especially like that jackpot over Leesburg. I think those of us west of DC are back in the game. Another 25-30 mile shift, and it gets fun. Should be below freezing @ onset outside of the UHI areas so first flakes could stick. If there's a solid coating by sunrise and temps in the low 30's during the day then it could be a fairly efficient accumulating event. Not 10-1 but enough to whiten the ground and maybe cover the top of the grass.
showmethesnow
Fighting weatherbell to get the Euro maps but looking at the 500 mb at 48 hr on TT we aren't to far off from something somewhat more significant. Little less progressive low and a little tweaking with the center portion of the trough....
