12/9/17: 2.9" * First storm of the year. Areas just to West get death banded and win out.

12/15/17: 0.2"

12/30/17: 0.4"

1/4/18: 0.6" * Costal that missed by 150 miles. Total lowered as of 2/25/18 due to suspicion in my measurement due to spotter reports. Lowered from 0.9"

1/16-17/18: 0.5" *

2/17/18: 1.5" * In contention of the best event of the year. 2-3 hours of +SN turned to sleet/rain. March-like paste storm.

3/6/18: 0.3" Nice little event. ~2 hours of off and on SN, but marginal temps

3/20-22/18: 4.2" Storm of the year. Slightly under performed, but beautiful March storm. Breaks 2 year 4"+ snow drought since Blizzard

Total: 10.6"

Dec: 3.5" | January: 1.1" | February" 1.5" | March: 4.5" |

What's climo there? Pretty sweet you eeked out climo this late in the season if you did.

My average is ~25", so I'm just about there. I got lucky in a few previous events where the band set up right over my area, not to mention my elevation helped many times when temps were marginal (and possibly also today since the compacting wasn't as bad as I expected). But still, hitting climo this year feels like a miracle, to be honest.

3/6/18 - 0.4”
Total ~ 10.3” Double digits at last!

3/20-21/18 - 6.1” snow/sleet (0.5” sleet and 5.6” snow)

Total ~ 16.4” snow/sleet

To make sure I'm using proper totals as sleet does get included, my updated total is 16.4", which is 9.6" below climo for my area

12/9:   1.0"  (daytime 32F garbage that didn't stick to anything but grass.)

12/30: 1.0"  (overnight powder pixie dust.  Spent 2 hours next morning shoveling every sidewalk in the neighborhood and transferring that snow to my back yard so there was enough snow for my girls to sled.)

2/4:    1.0"  (wet slop that turned to driving 34F rain in the afternoon.)

2/17:  2.4"  (34F wet slop that almost stuck to the roads for a time)

3/20-21:  3.6" (2-part HECS that gave me 36 hours of snizzle and about 2 hours worth of actual snow.  Forecast for upwards of a foot, 24 hours prior Euro snow map puts 21" IMBY, UKIE gives me 1.6" QPF.  EPIC BUST.  Meanwhile places 25 miles north of me get in excess of 12", places just over WV line get at least 8.  Even worse places south report 8" or more)

Total:  9.0"

The fact that somehow...approximatelt 15 inches of snow has been officially recorded for Baltimore (via BWI) is a mystery in itself. These are probably the most miserable 15 inches on a season I've ever been through...but today made it just a little more bearable because it came on the second day of Spring (and I'll always have that footnote in memory!)

Damn... I'm sorry about the most recent one. That's really an epic screwjob, and it's not like this past winter hasn't had countless others.

Storm total 3/20-21

Measured at 7 pm 3/20 for First part of storm 7.25"

Measured at 3 am 3/22 for Second part of storm 8.0 "

Total for each as a discrete event 15.25"

Total storm snow depth measured at 3 am 3/22 13.5"

Several inches were lost due to obvious compaction due to the weight of the snow and duration of the event. If snowboarded at regular intervals the total would have probably been 16" if not even greater. But for the consistency of my measurements and the fact I prefer ground truth over snowboarded totals I will go with the 13.5 as measured at the end of the event.

Running total:

12/9 - 2.0"

12/13 - .25"

12/15 - .75"

12/30 - 2.0"

1/4 - .75"

1/8 - .25"

1/13 - .1"

1/16-17 - 1.5"

1/30 - 1.0"

2/5 - 2.5"

*** 2/7 - .3" (Ice storm) *** Not included on snow totals

2/17 - 1.4 (Out of town, derived from avg of spotter reports 1.3 and 1.5)

3/12 - .25"

3/20-21 13.5"

Snow Total: 26.25"

***Note: Depending on source, avg. yearly snowfall for Hanover Pa is mid to upper 20's in. So one way or another I actually achieved climo for the year.

^Updated after last night's snow shower.

I wouldn't mind another dusting just so that it's exactly 25"

You've got to move out of that snow hell hole. Considering Charleston SC averages as much as DC does should tell you something. :D

People on this board don’t realize that when they need 5 things to go right for them to get snow I need 12.  I’ll sum up my thoughts in a post in banter.
