DeltaT13
Does everyone have there snow measuring boards setup? I’ve got several different setups this year to experiment with. Let’s hope my yard looks a lot more white by this time next week!
tim123
I would say bye end of next week 6 to 12 easy north of thruway. Starting Tuesday thru thursday
tim123
Before that I could see some 2 to 4 inch totals in an around Rochester
wolfie09
Potential for a light accumulation on Sunday as flow becomes favorable briefly, between 12z-0z and again in the tues-wed time frame.. A cold front crossing the region Saturday night and Sunday will bring renewed strength to lake effect snow across the region, with activity waning some Sunday night-Monday with the flattening of the upper level trough above. Ahead of the next longwave trough of low pressure snow chances will increase Monday night-Tuesday with both synoptic and lake effect snow possible. As the flow becomes more northwest later Tuesday and into Tuesday night with a deepening coastal low, lake snows will be favored to the south and southeast of the Eastern Great Lakes
DeltaT13
Winds have been roaring the last couple hours and are mixing down nicely behind that front. Those deep post frontal winds really seem to sound different than normal wind. Lake Erie is showing the first signs of life. Off we go.

Winds are absolutely roaring here as well, not sure for sure but I would guess were gusting over 50 as the house is shaking. Snow board is all ready to go. SouthBuffaloSteve
Winds are really whipping out there! Holy smokes! Has to be gusting over 50 for going on 4 hours now. Sucks this one looks like a metro bust. Should be fun tracking these the next few days... I'm watching early Friday when the band could shift back north. Look at those SW bands with loads of moisture off Superior. Going to be some crazy totals there.

rochesterdave
It's great to have at least some shots! It'll be interesting to see if the lakes can get cranking tomorrow. Damn, just a few cycles ago this looked epic. Live and die by the subtleties of the atmo.

rochesterdave
Lake Erie is already firing. You guys are gonna be surprised. Sometimes you gotta just trust the setup and the climo. South town's get crushed. Dang. I'm in Roc, and I'm already seeing accums from your streamer.
rochesterdave
Whether kbuf proper gets hit, that's another question. That's more nuanced. The north extent of your bands is more similar to the problem we face on the south shore of Ontario. Nobodies quite figured out how to forecast that. But Hamburg. U good. South town's, u good. A foot plus. At least from my outside perspective. Good luck. We want pics!

CNY-LES FREAK
I guess my radar isn't workin cause I don't see any band off Erie? It's bone dry but I think later today is when things will change. The cold air is still over MI and making it's way here, but slowly. CNY-LES FREAK
We have bands starting to crank towards KWRT. I gotta say, KWRT has been doing pretty good as of late, which is weird considering KBUF is still BN ( I think) in their LED department. Strange I tell ya, but that be the nature of LES!Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
