The main thread is a disaster, which is business as usual, because everyone is only concerned about where they live.

You have to only worry about your own posts. Until we start getting paid to moderate, sometimes the childish sh*t will be there for a few minutes until  one of us can leave our families or work obligations for a few minutes and delete the stupidity, wrong info, etc. Complaining and attacking in the main thread only makes the disaster worse. Throwing gasoline onto a fire and then being shocked that the fire got worse is fuking idiotic.

First of all I am not criticizing the job that the mods have done, you included. I know that you're volunteers. However, it's more than just the childish BS, it's low information posters making contradicting posts which confuse the hell out of everyone.

But complaining about it, instead of making a point using actual data, (or ignoring it) contributes to the childish bs in those threads.

Cranky is terrible. I usually don't talk about people who aren't around to defend themselves, but the dude is perpetually right at the intersection of "wrong" and "self-assured."

Heh. Why isnt he posting in our storm thread?

I moderate my own posts...If I feel it doesnt belong, I delete it. Thats how it should be...Adults shouldn't need to rely on mods to tell them right from wrong IMO. I've been here since 2011 and only have 695 posts...Theres a reason for that...Its because IDK WTF Im talking about so I just leave it to the ones that do.

Droughts and extreme dry conditions are probably the most annoying types weather to me.

I like them if they're accompanied by extreme heat.  I cant stand high humidity.

At some point we will need to start desalinating the oceans for our water supply.

The funny thing is I actually like moist heat like July 99 better than dry heat. But riding the LB boardwalk on 7-5-99 with 100 and a 75 dewpoint gave me an uncomfortable pins and needles feeling.;)

I thought that was a dry heat for some reason- our lawns were yellow lol.

My ideal will always be the 2010 summer, that was hot end to end, with the 11 yr solar cycle, can we expect a repeat in 2021?

Yeah, super high humidity and no rain. Everything turned brown around Long Beach. I was rooting for heavy rains after that. But missed out on the heaviest of Floyd's rains in September.

Yep believe it nor not that tracked too close to us- if it had been out by Montauk we would have gotten the heavier rains.

One reason I like summer... I can post more freely about sitting on the beach enjoying 90/70 and there are only like 9 people on the board to read/comment/complain.

Well its kinda hard to post about sitting on the beach enjoying 90/70 when its winter. ;)
