Too bad we aren't getting this snow in a couple weeks, then we wouldn't have to worry about sun angles...

Anyone else notice it’s extremly dark out today for the middle of the day???

I thought the same thing as I had to turn on a light at 3:15pm!!!  It's like being in the UK

The hot hand helps melt the snow, hes got a point.

I bet he shovels the snow right into a rim that looks like a manhole.

It isn’t so much that he was wrong, but the arrogance in the way he phrased that others were. I’ve been lurking here for a solid 8 years and have learned a ton by reading. With that being said, I identify those who know what they talking about and scroll over those who don’t. I apologize for my post last night in the discussion thread but after watching that nonsense year after year I could not help myself. Enjoy the snow everyone!

Maybe it's another eclipse.

On that topic I was reading today that a doctor reported a patient coming in who has a permanent crescent-shaped image burned into their eye because they looked at the eclipse unprotected.  This person said that they thought  they  were okay because they used SPF lotion and rubbed it into their eyes and thought that would protect them from the sun's dangerous radiation.

Um......guess that was a really bad plan.

24 car pile up in San Antonio.

I think Brownsville had their third accumulating snow since the 1800s.  This has to be Texas' biggest snow since the Christmas 2004 snowfall which was truly historic.

2 weeks after I moved to Austin in Jan 2015, there was a light coating of ice on cold surfaces and some trees. Basically a heavy frost. My boss called my team urgently and told us not to attempt travel on roads. Any amount of ice or snow down there essentially shuts things down. I never saw snow in Austin. I couldn’t imagine South Padre Island with thundersnow and paste on the palm trees.

Record heat to record cold and snow in a few days is about as extreme as it gets for South Texas.
