That is New York City's coldest maximum temperature since February 14, 2016 when the mercury topped out at 15°. It's also New York City's coldest high temperature in December since December 22, 1989 when the thermometer reached 18° for a maximum temperature. Persistent offshore flow has dropped the tide levels to some of the lowest of the year. The bottom was exposed in spots today along the creeks and canals just south of 25A.
