Day before it had us getting maybe an inch. Gave us a little more closer to game time but overall it didn’t handle it well if I remember correctly

Sernest14
Thankfully this is happening overnight - 3K NAM still gives some good totals - about 3-5 on a 7:1 Will likely be heavy wet snow with huge flakes which is always fun - kind of reminds me of the March storm back in '15 I think it was where we got 4 inches of that stuff but it was gone just like that.

RIC Airport
JB showed this on air tonight, emphasizing the airmass arriving next weekend. I'm personally more excited about the next snow and then getting some old time cold. Going to be a nice period coming up, maybe this February will be 2015's twin? RIC Airport
Its hard to get subzero temperatures at RIC when you get into mid February, really because the sun angle is much higher, thus longer days. The latest subzero reading on record at RIC happened on February 28th, so it's not impossible. Just need a really good airmass and solid snow cover. It came close in 2015, not sure why it didn't.
RVASnowLover
NAM Looked better despite the low being close to the coast. Big difference in amounts between east end and the west end. How far west does the rain/snow line get? That’s the question
wasnow215
It’s funny to see the regional threads and everybody getting all excited when really it’s a 2 to 4 spread everywhere LOL.. maybe a little more north of DC and into interior southern New Jersey etc.

Reinforced the thought of 2-4. 2-4 seems like a good safe bet area wide with temps being marginal and also the speed of the system. It’s going to get in and get out

JB Fins
Quote Ugh, hate the NBC 12 weather app, woke up, saw WSW and thought awesome but disappointed to see WWA for our area. Maybe we will upgrade closer to event like last week. Thanks for posting Yoda. It is funny with the TV mets as JB is always predicting on the higher end and as much as Duncan loves snow (used to have a snowmobile) he always seems conservative.
Rhino16
Odd right now. I could definitely see a Winter Storm Warning being issued later at least for the west end in case we happen to get any heavier bands. Interested to see what happens!
RVASnowLover
I’m interested to see how this one plays out. Huge bust potential. Still think 2-4 but even that could bust if we don’t get enough cold air. On the flip side if we can get enough cold air to hang around a little longer I could see us getting a little more. Just going off the meso models I think somewhere just north of RVA will be the sweet spot.
