RVASnowLover
00z gfs was bad for everyone. Transfer is too slow. Both para and op GFS still wants to give southern Va and NC good hits on Thursday. 1 inch here in Richmond

See what uk and euro look like for 00z- hopefully they hold
RVASnowLover
00z EURO wasn't as good as the epic 12z but still a good hit for RVA. Rain and mixing for Hampton Roads.
Sernest14
Another solid uk and euro run Won’t let me post maps but ~7” on us and 13.5” euro
RVASnowLover
6z GFS still wants to gives Danville and parts of NC 6 inches from Thursday’s event. Really curious to see how that works out. NAM says no

It also appears the 12z NAM is a bit more moist.
eaglesin2011
Gonna really depend where that moisture sets up that's coming in near Memphis TN ... Its holding together so far but will get pulled into the coast system. Will be interesting to see how it plays out...

Yeah the HRRR seems to agree with the GFS. I think a consensus is 1-3 for NC. The GFS is putting down down 7-8 inches for parts of NC. That seems extreme but we’ll see

JB Fins
I am a bit antsy now about Sunday/Monday given the discussion in the other thread. Seems like temps will most certainly be an issue for us as depicted now and as we know through history. I just hate the angst of sitting through rain and waiting for a changeover. Remember a storm, think March of 2009, where it rained most of the day Sunday and transitioned and we got 11" so know it happens but just have snow starved lately, don't want to see 3" of slop while to the north they get 2'. Yeah, a lot of the GFS has been rain here... Euro, UK, and Canadian have been decent for here in my opinion. We are famous for the rain/snow line after all! Edit: Lets get through 12z and beyond before we form some opinions...
RVASnowLover
We all get nervous about the rain snow line around here. I’ll be focusing more on the UK and EURO which are nice hits so far. We will always have concerns over mixing issues. That’s just our climo

RVASnowLover
ICON has primary going too far north into Ohio. Transfer is slow. Snow to rain event verbatim
eaglesin2011
I dont doubt that this ends up being a rain to snow event.. Normally always happens here in big storms.. We definitely should push for more of a southern trend . It may not end up being as big of a storm but at least it wouldn't be as much mixing. I can see a major sleet event here.. Hopefully that dosnt happen...
RVASnowLover
All options are on the table at this point. I’m not going to look too much into the ICON
RVASnowLover
Well the GFS was bad too. Primary is too far north, into Ohio. Some light snow then change over to rain
JB Fins
Okay, now I guess we are on pins and needles until 1:00. If Euro steps toward GFS and Icon, I will lose my giddiness and actually get back to work.
wasnow215
I think the chances of good snow are about 50% right now for Sun into Tue. I don’t think it’s fair to rule out euro because GFS is showing warmer temperatures.

eaglesin2011
The radar hallucinations does look nice out west, but we will see how much transfers over and if the heavier precip it can inch up this way more.. At least it's coming in over night, hopefully temps crash fast. .. Ha,watch us get more with this then Sunday's system..lol
RVASnowLover
Euro looks meh. Great front end thump. The coastal is too far inland. We change over to rain
