cwc
Hourly forecast for Pittsburgh from NWS PBZ. This, boys and girls, is a graphical representation of a slop storm
blackngoldrules
Hourly forecast for Pittsburgh from NWS PBZ. This, boys and girls, is a graphical representation of a slop stormYep. Every form of slop is well represented there. I'm sure I will see them all where I'm at. Just hope the slop holds off as long as possible in the beginning. Too often, that warm air gets me quicker than what the models typically show. They like to underestimate that wtod a lot of the time. That said, PBZ is calling for surface temps in the 40's for SWPA tomorrow. 12z Euro has the temps at 850mb -1° C. That takes place at 12z tomorrow. NAM on the other hand is just a little too far north. It's even showing 3 inch per hour rates just north of us.
CoraopolisWx
Although the past 4 Euro runs have decreased snow qpf across the state, the 12z actually increased a bit to around 0.6” for most of Allegheny county. It’s been pretty steady the past few days.

Rd9108
Hasn't the euro been pretty good with temps recently. I know the verification score is the highest but is it really a big win if you forecast cloudy and 40 perfectly.

MikeB_01
Is that the highest 850 temp? That’s the highest I could see at the 6 hr stretches. Surface temp also never made it above freezing at KPIT .

Someone help me up but regardless tomorrow's commute looks like it's gonna be dicey. Models are really toying with us. 18z gfs rebounded fwiw. Best to just expect 2-4 and hope for a surprise at this point.
SteelCity08
Nws also added an inch to my point and click. If it sounds like I'm hanging on to every bit of positive news it's because I am lol.

snowsux
After this, welcome to mud season. Upper 40's and rain.....Probably for a good 6 weeks straight.
north pgh
Too much negativity on this board. (wink wink) Haha. I don't blame anyone. I am just getting older and don't get as worked up as I used to. No met training here but I just have a gut feeling that this is going to over-perform. Hoping for a 1994 type storm where it never changes over and we all get 8 inches or more. (Bethel Park and south too!) Too bad it will be starting around 3:00 or 4:00 am. It looks like most of the snow will be on the ground when we wake up. Here we go. Good luck everyone.

Nah, it will get cold again before true Spring sets in. I do hate mud though, mainly when the dog decides to run past and skip getting the paws wiped. MikeB_01
Anyone watching the HRRRs that are coming out? Western AGC never fully switches to rain. This is super close. Reading chatter on twitter again about how the modeling is turning north too early. Something to keep an eye on.
