Even with all the goofy shows they have on now, they still beat the hell out of Accuweather, which is what I'm stuck with on FIOS. Anyway, that's my vent for the day. Back to tracking. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk I especially miss the local channel TWC had going 24 hrs. A quick check of the radar while watching tv was nice to have. Sometimes your phone is on the charger, or just in another room. Also if your network/ internet is down, there’s no local weather access.

Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk Yes, they got much better when they got rid of that corny morning weather with Al Roker. Their current morning show is pretty good now, particularly at 10 minutes before the hour when they give a long range winter outlook. Weather World from Penn State on PBS is good too. I was surprised to see it is still on after all these years after moving back to PA. I remember watching it when I was a kid in the 70's with Joe Bastardi as a met student and all the founders from Accu Weather giving the weather synopsis on hand drawn paper. Rd9108
The next storm threat looks like it's dying a horrible death. The trend is SE and weaker. This may allow the wave on Saturday/Sunday to ampify and be the main threat.

Could come back though let's see what the next 48 hours show.
JPOracle
We will just wait and see, i can say i will just be more accurate coming up through the year. Just lets enjoy this week and see what groundhogs day brings us
Rd9108
18z is still like 2-4 but it's a far cry from the amped up storms a couple days ago. Ritual is right it looks more like a frontal passage than an actual storm.
RitualOfTheTrout
NWS going with 1-3 tonight, more as you head North to I-80 or SE into the ridges. It will be interesting to see how this looks once short range models get a look. Inverted troughs can be tricky to forecast and can give a surprise to a narrow area. OutnOakmont
I'm just trying to get caught up on everything after a long weekend. I'm confused... there's a chance for snow tonight that's probably gonna turn out to be a crapper. And then again Thurs/Fri and Sat/Sun? Are those two separate systems over the weekend? It looks like GFS on Pivotal Weather has some nice accumulations by Sunday 18z.

The other 2 storms look pretty light at the moment, but until you get to 72 hours in this pattern you really can't be sure.

By all appearances it is coming down and will stay a while. The cold is building on our side of the pole and begins sliding down this weekend. Burghblizz
Heavy wet snow here with a quick pasting on everything. So much for warm ground. Quick inch already on grass and metal surfaces and roads now white as well....likely short lived but an impressive burst

jwilson
About half an inch total as of now. Didn't snow very much last night - and that which did fall basically melted immediately. It has really been a dink-and-dunk winter.
ChalkHillSnowNut
Big difference in elevation/lift as I got about 4-5” imby and driving down the summit into Uniontown this morning they have about an inch down here.....
