3k NAM looks like 2-4 locked in

Yeah looks good for a solid 2 then increasing has you head North. I'll remain cautiously optimistic with this, but wouldn't be shocked if we see more mixing and totals get knocked down. Will have to take my daughter out to play in it tomorrow after work as temperatures won't be oppressively cold but it won't stick around long with 2-3 days in the 45-55 degree range and rain ahead of that cutter. I guess its as the saying goes though, better to have snowed and melted than to have never snowed at all.

Next weekend storm is an interesting battle between the models. GFS is furthest east, but UKie and Canadian are in decent spots for now to. Euro is pretty far west with the LP.

Looks like a difficult forecast.

Just slight differences at H5 with location, strength, and timing, are making big changes at the surface.

Should be fun to track though, especially if we’re still in the game come Thursday.

Love that two inch hole right over Allegheny County. Yeah, 1-3 sounds about right with a little slop mixing in, especially where I'm at. I haven't had much confidence in this one personally. Depends on where you're at. We'll see what happens and then on to the next one. The NWS just has rain for the next one early on and then a chance of rain and snow. Temps seem to be an issue with that one, at least as of now.

The GFS for next weekend is just locked in on track. Run after run it's showing the same thing. Funny how once a cutter shows up it rarely trends to favor us.

Seems right now to be the case.

However, a slightly stronger Thursday storm would help push the trough further east.

No matter how you slice it, it’s gonna be a fine line to walk, without a strong HP to the north.

Looks like a great storm for Detroit emoji1304.png

I wouldn't get to distressed over the weekend thing right now. GFS and CMC are within 200-300 miles of being a good storm for this area, and at day 6+ leads that's a reasonable level of error especially since its highly dependent on what happens with the storm Thursday. Just quickly looking through the GEFS / GEPS / EPS. they all look to take the low further SE than their OP counterparts. Honestly missing to the East is just as much on the table in my mind as to far West.

With that said, we should get a couple inches of snow today so don't forget to look out the window. :snowwindow:

EPS is actually in a decent spot too.

I haven't been outside this morning. KPIT is at 34 but i heard the salt trucks going around my neighborhood. Like most have indicated, the evaporative cooling will occur soon i would imagine

00Z EPS.

No super strong high above us on this image, but also not bad. Good to see some blocking there

Heard a clap of thunder not long ago way up in the clouds,  had a mix of sleet, freezing rain, and snow, and actually a few small hail stones (pea sized) mixed in.  Classic overrunning event today. As i am going ice fishing

I’m just going to guess there was no hail mixed in today. I’m still waiting on your blizzard.
