About 3 inches of rain at the jersey shore and stations are gusting to 44 at sea girt 40 seaside heights

29.28 here at my station in Sheepshead Bay and falling rapidly. 1.84 inches of rain so far. Highest wind gust so far was around 4pm at 21 mph. Raining lightly now.

lost power here for 2 minutes in Commack, western suffolk co.  heard a couple transformers blow.  wind has picked up quite a bit.

As others have stated, the wind is picking up here in Syosset as well after hours of breezy conditions.

Up to 3.05" of rain on the event with plenty more to come. That dry slot looks headed for NYC East, so the surface low will probably track right up the NJ immediate coast and over the city itself. That means more rain and less wind for NJ and less rain and more wind East of the Hudson.

Locally? I'd say pretty widespread. Not sure what you were expecting 100 miles inland

Lost power too but for 10 seconds.   That's not a good sign.

There was actually no hype for this event, the media barely picked up on it, very few people have even talked about it. Even the NWS was slow to catch on in some places.

Watch out for a sting at the base of that comma head!  Way more midlevel drying than modeling showed.

I think the winds behind this may actually over perform, it's still going to deepen substantially as it moves past us with very strong CAA behind it and rapid pressure rises.

Agree. Was just down in the valley. Encountered a few decent puddles on the road. Avg rain drop size. Still waiting for the storm.
