NorEastermass128
You're good....you overmeasure, but you're good.... Hey...deep down, I think we all feel the same. I like where we sit right now.
weathafella
GGEM coming in....doesn't look nearly as good. Northern stream 48 vs 12z 60 looks better.

NorthShoreWx
I was 1 year old. My parents made me shovel.... Thats still the benchmark snowfall for NYC. The photo on the cover of voume 1 of the KU books is from Queens in December 1947. They didn't have anything like that in 2006...different measuring techniques. donsutherland1
Some select qpf figures from the GFS: BAF: 0.35" BDL: 0.41" BOS: 0.72" CON: 0.18" ORH: 0.50" PVD: 1.02" (brief p-type issue?) PWM: 0.34" P-type issues for the Cape and ACK.

Tropopause_Fold
Euro needs to hold serve. Nothing more, nothing less. thing is...they aren't very similar. (gfs vs. ec) so the ec holding serve would indicate we are still not nearing consensus.

Ginx snewx
I agree with that, I think its overdoing the stall part to far south......... Gibbs posts in the main forum lead me to believ he thinks the Euro has the right idea and the GFS will move to it as it is doing. One thing everyone needs to keep in mind is the overall pattern and tele connectors are screaming huge as in geographical coverage storm. Waiting up for the Euro fook it, these runs only come what twice every three years, got to do it.

Baroclinic Zone
thing is...they aren't very similar. (gfs vs. ec) so the ec holding serve would indicate we are still not nearing consensus. I would prefer the Euro solution over the GFS but if the GFS ends up being correct I'll be more than thrilled. I think we've seen the GFS trend closer to the Euro solution tonight. Kbosch
Euro needs to hold serve. Nothing more, nothing less. Definitely, let everything else continue to come to it. I would fall into the prediction camp of a bit weaker but with only negligible changes in track.

Face value, I'm sure the GFS tries to make it rain for a time there, but we know its biases in 2m temps out there.

mahk_webstah
Will you are great on that show, such a good counterbalance to DT. And I think we should all step back, look at trends...it is Wednesday, this is still developing and this was the day that typically an event like this would fall apart. So far it hasn't although we still have the 2 globals to go. Tomorrow night is when we should start to pick apart the specifics at the surface, not tonight. Bigger Western Ridge, stronger northern stream to pull the think north...that's what I hear tonight. Wouldn't be surprised that we see a trend away from the Euro history making event over the SE and MA, towards something closer to climatology that closes off further north and buries DC through at least CNE. If the northern energy keeps trending stronger that seems like a reasonable possibility.

weatherwiz
Euro needs to hold serve. Nothing more, nothing less. If the Euro continues to hold serve to what it's been showing that will really begin to open my eyes. It has been very interesting though to see the GFS and now the NAM sort of start trying to trend towards the Euro with respect to digging that trough deeper. weathafella
GEM sucks. What's a little worrisome is that it resembles the UKMET. But UK imho is an awful model despite it's supporters. It has led me down the primrose path more times than the GFS.
Clinch Leatherwood
CMC is going to be a strung out piece of doodoo Major timing changes. Lots of energy coming in late should sping up a biggie - late. Ginx I think a Euro type deal is still possible but just not that far SW. I could see a beast stalling up our way, not that far south. I'm pretty sure it's off a rocker with that 12z solution.
