I'm so glad to be out of the Columbia area, CAE reported 91 and 77 today, and I seriously doubt either was a record.

Record high at CAE is 94 so not far off. Dude it's still 82/73 for HI of 87 AT 10:00 AT NIGHT on Oct 9th. That's just crazy stuff there. Last 5 days have reached 87, 88, 88, 89, 91! Glad I'm not in CAE!

Guys, I just wanna say that this weather absolutely sucks.  75 with a dp of 74 on October the 11th!  That should not happen!!

You can add three days of 90+ at RDU in the middle of October, should not happen as well.

But things do look to change for the better the second half of the month.

Special Weather Statement

Special Weather Statement
National Weather Service Raleigh NC
612 PM EDT WED OCT 11 2017

NCZ025>027-041-112300-
Nash NC-Franklin NC-Durham NC-Wake NC-
612 PM EDT WED OCT 11 2017

...A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT WEST CENTRAL NASH...
CENTRAL WAKE...SOUTHEASTERN DURHAM AND FRANKLIN COUNTIES UNTIL 700 PM
EDT...

At 611 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Franklinton to near
Wake Forest to near Rdu International. Movement was southeast at 10
mph.

Wind gusts up to 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

Heavy rain and minor flooding and deadly cloud to ground lightning
will also be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Louisburg, Wake Forest, Garner, Zebulon,
Franklinton, Bunn and Rdu International.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter in a nearby building or vehicle. Wind gusts as high as
40 mph are capable of knocking down tree limbs and blowing around
trash cans, potted plants, lawn furniture and other light outdoor
objects.

Locally heavy rain will quickly reduce visibility and result in
ponding of water on roadways, standing water in low lying areas, and
minor flooding of creeks, streams, and areas of poor drainage.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra caution to avoid
hydroplaning, especially in urban areas where prolonged heavy rain
can quickly lead to flooding.
