Most of the county is seeing moderate snow currently and very windy. Whiteout conditions closer to the border. I left too early then! Just drove all the way through the skyway. Will post pics when home.

Buckethead
I forgot my tape measure, so I cleared a spot and placed a nickel (left) and quarter(right) to give you guys some scale to the snow depth. It is rippin' up on Big Bald! I post a link to the video when I get it uploaded.
Moonhowl
Enjoying the videos and photos. Buckethead, that wind on Big Bald had to have been epic. Blustery with snow flurries and some snow showers in Asheville.

SnoJoe
What a good day! I've got 1.5 inches on the ground so far. Just enough to update my signature to the new year. High today was 26.2 and now down to 22.9. Wind chills stayed in the teens all day. Had a max gust to 40.3 at 5:27 pm. Still have light snow at the moment. Nice pics and vids. Someday I'll figure out how to post some. It never seems to work for me.

chapelhillwx
Pic from the skyway on the TN side looking down. There was one isolated stretch of a mile or so that had 4-5” on the ground as of 2pm right on the border. 5000+ feet in NC was mostly rime ice with a dusting. Hvward
Awesome pic Met85! Loving them! I made it up to Max Patch as well, as you can see lol. This was one of the prettiest snows I have experienced. The way it stuck to the leaves was incredible and I feel blessed to have experienced it. Here are a few of my shots from the trip. And one from just below foggy Roan Mountain where I visited early yesterday morning.

Maybe some cool weather around Thanksgiving then, hammer down as we approach the end of the year.
