Higher elevations are going to get hammered again tomorrow night and through mid day Thursday. Looks like we could have a little bit of dry slotting occurring over the valleys, but the flow looks so strong, that eventually it leverages the dry air out of the way. Should be another interesting event with 6”+ possible again for some of you!

GSP showing on the snow map 1.3 inches tomorrow night for Asheville, 1.7 Waynesville, .1 Brevard. around 2 inches Burnsville area and 3 inches north of there with locally higher amounts.

You're right. You can double, triple, or even sometimes quadruple those amounts on the boarder and peaks.StormTotalSnowWeb.png

Was just looking at the 6z GFS, that pocket of really heavy snow is really close to the northern counties, could get a surprise from this one.

Absolutely. And the 18z GFS has a decent ice event this Saturday. I get the feeling this is gonna be the "winter that wouldn't end" before all is said and done. Fine by me, I moved here for the cold. I'll take snow over 75 any day.

Back when the January cold was locked in I have been suspecting this would be the type of winter that would extend into April with at least NWFS.  I still think it will be mid April before we see February type temperatures again :)

No doubt you will enjoy the Spring:snowing:
