You are 2 1/2 hours from the Cherohala Skyway in Graham County. The road climbs to 5700' and never closes..Take NC 143 West. You have an excellent chance of seeing snow

Awesome, I’ll have to check that out!!

If you wanna stay in GA you can always try 129 over Blood Mountain/Neel's Gap. They'll likely see some flurries tomorrow afternoon. Same goes for Richard Russell Scenic Highway from Helen to Blairsville. Brasstown Bald would be a great place if they keep the road open (they probably won't).

I’m down to go to NC/TN but I love Helen!

Event: Special Weather Statement
Alert:
...FIRST SNOW OF THE SEASON FOR THE NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS...
Cold air behind a departing cold front along with an upper-level
disturbance will bring the first snow of the season to the North
Carolina mountains. Initial flurries this morning will give way
to snow showers at the highest elevations, with snow levels
gradually falling through the day as the colder air filters in.
The highest elevations, those above 5000 feet in the Smokies,
Blacks, and near Roan may see as much as 3-4 inches, but most
areas above 2500 feet along the Tennessee state line will see only
between 1/2 and 1 inch of snow.
