cold air aloft
Anyone looking to warm up should head to Maggie. Up to 41 degrees and light rain with the heavier bands having moved on out.

PisgahNCWeather
Rain just now a light drizzle. Ended up with 1.10 and just now got up to 32. Ice everywhere which just doesn't happen in Candler very often.

Now up to 37.7. Too early to call it yet but so far this winter has been pretty disappointing. It's been a little colder this year but still need about two and a half feet of snow just to hit normal. Looks like the next couple of weeks are not going to produce much so it's really going to have to go out with a bang. We'll see, but not holding my breath. Buckethead
I woke up late so I don't know how much snow fell before it switched but there's over 3/4" on my board outside. Lots of moisture with this one...too bad we didn't have more cold air.
Blue_Ridge_Escarpment
Unbelievable. Still below freezing at 31 here in Marion. Freezing drizzle currently making things slick. Trees are bending. Know of one tree down on the road leading into the neighborhood.
Met1985
The flow snow looks good for tonight into tomorrow morning. I would not be surprised to see an advisory for tonight.

SnoJoe
GSP .....With developing CAA and NW flow, expect snow showers to develop this evening across the TN border counties then tapering off near daybreak. Could see up to an inch in the lower elevations with up to 2 inches above 3500 feet. Right now, it seems this will be below advisory level snow for most of that area. That would be great, but it already appears to be disappearing/thinning as it enters western Tennessee and Kentucky. I'm sure the usually favored NWFS areas will get a good burst however. MotoWeatherman
HRRR ups the ante just a bit with each run. I'm thinking 1/2 to inch for areas above 4k with 2 inches at the higher areas along the TN border.

Tacoma
Wow Buncombe County Schools should have been a two hour delay if not three, roads are terrible in a lot of sections around Erwin and Enka school districts, I'm a bus driver and man was it slick in a lot of places, lots of other drivers calling in about sliding, roads were icy and snow was covering some of the roads. snow was falling this morning and cars would run over it and melt then refreeze. Buckethead
You can really tell when the pattern goes to crap on here lol...the crickets came out. Nice steady 45° rain in the high country this morning, so now it's extra-extra muddy but at least the ice is gone until later tonight.
