VIS satellite looked real shaky though. What gives? Enter GOES-16 Daytime Micro-physics shot. Note very slight orange tint over the mountains. Indicates a little deeper clouds than inferred from VIS alone. For reference see true mid-high clouds in the Northeast. So, over the NC Highcountry a few slightly deeper clouds are noted. Enjoy! This was a great event for Haywood. That's great Met, I knew you Crabtree/Fines Creek folks would really cash in. I had exactly 1 inch in Maggie which I will take any day in a upslope event.
