You guys having fun yet? Lol tried to leave the house to drive around and Monta Vista Rd. is a disaster. 8 cars stuck on the hill just past The Rock Church.

.

Sand Hill Rd is the same way. I got me snow tires and I was going up the hill through people just all over not all over the road.

Yeah Ward the road conditions have gone downhill quick. It will be getting dark in about 2 hours with the heavy cloud cover. Things will continue to go downhill.

Yeah Met. And like you and HT mentioned moisture is not a concern. You can see the second piece of energy now surging ahead in the stream if you look at the KBMX radar. That will fill in the area of concern and the real fun begins.. maybe someone in here hears Thundersnow tonight? Hopefully!

The moment I saw it accumulating on Smoky Park Highway this morning, I knew we were in trouble. I had my doubts about whether it would stick to the roadways during the daylight, but the atmosphere was about to lay down that thermal layer of initial snow before the sun came up and that was all she wrote, because rates never let up enough for any meaningful melt to occur.

We (rutherford county) let school out at 12. It was an hour to late. I have one bus stuck on its route towards the upper end of the county. Wating on a wrecker to pull him. Roads went bad quickly with about 1/2 - 1" in an hour..

Looking at the NAM is crazy. Looks like an additional 6-10 inches from this one system. It has no breaks in precip. But we might see some light accumulations but do not worry. The radar will and is filling back in as we speak. Also don't look know but the NAM is really robust with some upslope snow on already 6+ inches. Going to be a great weekend!
