Man you are like a fart in an oxygen tank. Just no fun and completely depressing. Your team is about to go into the WS, yet your posts make Sarah Mclachlan sound like a comedian.

lol.

Once winter comes it'll be calls of 1-3" every time a model prints 0.01" QPF and he'll be telling you to stop being so cautionary haha.

Weeklies keep flipping around. Week 3 back to being warm and lower heights near AK through west coast. Week 4 then tries to bring the EPO towards the negative side. I feel like  Week 3 and 4 have been useless lately so anyone's guess there.

This weather on the whole is ridiculous. Seems like we just keep punting any changes to more seasonable or colder weather

Impressive cold dump into the Upper Plains at the end of the OP 12z GFS run today.

So we finally seem to be getting a better Pacific, but remember the wavelengths this time of year. The Pacific finally becomes favorable with a more -EPO/+PNA look into day 10 and even beyond. Shown in the first image. In the second image, you can see a large MJO forcing shown at 200mb pass easterly and exhibit a more Nino look. That seems to be the reason why we are seeing this pattern. Notice earlier in that graphic, nothing comes close to exhibiting this kind of wave until now. That's because we have been in a soild nina state for a long time. Interesting stuff...but also..it helps that the coolest waters are east and allows the wave to propagate east over warmer waters west of dateline.

To expound on the wavelength issue, those with the immediate gratification fetish may not get it. The cold will plunge into the Plains and Midwest from time to time. We will get shots, but this pattern is not the same now, as it would be in winter. Regardless...I certainly am glad not to see the one eyed weenie in AK. At least for now.
