wxdude64
Nice pop up storm just rolled thru, dropped temp from 84 down to 70. Highest wind was 26 mph, and only looks like 0.05-0.06 in gauge, I'll gladly take the cooling though.
high risk
Extremely well-defined outflow boundary pushing south and west out of Baltimore with lots of convection forming along and immediately behind it. Keep dropping south, baby!

poolz1
Watched a great light show this evening...large thunderstorm tops in PA being illuminated every 5-10 seconds. Pretty impressive. Received .21" from a small popup cell earlier in the evening. At least a somewhat interesting Aug day.

It was enough of a show to keep the kids interested for a while...usually it's just crazy dad out in yard solo looking up at the sky...lol Sounded like WWIII last night around midnight. Almost a half inch in the rain gauge from that storm. .69" last 24hr. First week of Aug and the yard is still lush

mitchnick
It's been incredibly comfortable, if not cool, for the end of July in the obx. Coolest weather ever for all the years i've been coming down here in fact. Leaving tomorrow to low 80's over the weekend back home I see. If we're going to have a lousy winter, a comfortable summer is a welcome consolation prize in my book.

It seems like every time I look at radar there's something blowing up over that area. Really crazy. Edit: Just looked, and they've got more storms and inches of rain on tap tomorrow and Saturday. 3 hours ago, losetoa6 said: This is definitely correct! Has to hurt being so close that that action! CAPE
Took this last evening as that strong storm moved in from the NW. It weakened/redeveloped further east as it came overhead but managed 0.3" of rain and some gusty winds.
