The National Weather Service in Upton NY has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Eastern Passaic County in northeastern New Jersey...

* Until 230 PM EDT

* At 105 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to
  begin shortly. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause
  flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways,
  streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low
  lying spots.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Paterson, Passaic, Hawthorne, Clifton, Woodland Park, North
  Haledon, Haledon and Prospect Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

i'm not far from newark and even i have had nothing so far. monday looks much better with a warm front approaching from the south

* At 120 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Caldwell,
  moving northeast at 15 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Paterson, Passaic, Wayne, Bloomfield, Hackensack, Orange,
  Bergenfield, Paramus, Ridgewood, Rutherford, Ramsey, Caldwell,

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a

Yeah, the Euro has been carrying that Monday warm front for several days now for something more widespread. Things really dried out here on LI recently.

  heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have
  already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly in the
  areas of heaviest rain.

* Some locations that could experience flooding include...
  Morristown, Madison, Florham Park, East Hanover, Lincoln Park,
  Chatham, Boonton, Morris Plains, Mountain Lakes, Parsippany and
  Hanover Township.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
