Eskimo Joe
Watch the Winchester, Front Royal, Warrenton, Charles Town area on radar...that's where you re-development will being. You can already see the incipient stage over the Loudoun/Fauquier county line.
87storms
Gonna be interesting to see how it unfolds. Florida level downpours for a few hrs in a creek filled area like this is gonna cause some problems. It's not common to have that duration. Our heavy backyard summer rainers are usually isolated and over after a few minutes.
NorthArlington101
5 videos of Four Mile Run @ George Mason. Not sure many of you drive by there but it's usually much lower and much slower. It's way over the bike path. Apparently the flood wall failed in 2006 so that can be the comparison point for Arlington.

Stormpc
.21 so far. Just looking for a fresh inch. That would be nice. Hope everyone stays safe. I had hoped the last batch would have been more potent. Obviously it wasn't.
dailylurker
.60 here today. Couldn't manage to get under any good rain. Areas all around me did very well. Looks like some redevelopment west of DC over the last few minutes.
ErinInTheSky
Looks like some storms are starting to pop up again between Winchester and Reston. Could be the start of the band that is supposed to get to DC.
nw baltimore wx
At 0.96" here. Sidenote, I'm glad I took the sheetrock down in the garage because when the heavy stuff came through here, there was a gusher. Roof leaks are a pain.

WVclimo
Measured 0.50" from today, when I arrived home an hour ago. It's been showery since, but short-range models say the meat of the event comes in the next several hours. 6.76 for July so far.
adelphi_sky
Let the fun begin! It's interesting watching the storms pop up like an arrow from the west through DC like targeting a bullseye.

This is good fun... almost like tracking a snowstorm until you step outside. I wonder how the wrap-around will go tomorrow. The 3k NAM is very aggressive with it while the HRRR is much less enthused. It will probably juice up overnight. I suspect the 0z meso runs will hold. The upper level setup is really good for some backside heavy rain.
