LongBeachSurfFreak
Blinding rain at jones beach. Surprisingly not lighting for how intense the rain was. Over an inch in half hour. Similar rates to the last wantagh flash flood event. Had that trained we would have serious flooding again
psv88
Closing in an 1/2 inch out here. From NW Nassau on east the rain totals will not be impressive. Maybe .75 - 0.80. Heaviest rains stayed west and south. Rainfall rates not impressive either, generally 1/2" an hour or less.

Cfa
Drove through the blinding rain from the Sunken Meadow Pkwy to the Belt Pkwy (roughly 35-40 miles), got splashed a few times and was effectively blind to the road ahead. I had to "turn around, don't drown" under a flooded underpass in Laurelton. And then a portion of 878 was under about a foot+ water, a semi sped through it and sent an actual wave (not a splash) of water over the tops of cars, myself included. I'm at 1.30" and counting. bluewave
Laurelton BLVD in Long Beach lived up to its flooding reputation. You need a small boat on days like this near Laurelton, National, and Riverside BLVD's. https://m.facebook.com/project11561/photos/a.380638145366248.87789.378345352262194/1345961475500572/?type=3&source=
