Eskimo Joe
Not a bad storm just west of Winchester either. Terrain might help aid the updraft long enough to get a good hail core going.

batmanbrad
Still under the "nearly stationary" cell that is sitting over Montgomery Village... rain mostly moderate but occasionally heavy, hail off and on but small pea to sometimes near marble sized, lighting moderately frequently, some wind gusts at times though not of the damaging intensity... back yard has quite a bit of standing water. NorthArlington101
Gross out. Can't believe it was hailing a mile away. Plenty of storm fuel IMBY if something wanted to try and form.

BlizzardNole
LOL at Germantown included in that warning -- not a drop here and I am at Rt 355 and Rt 27, a couple miles east. This is the most agonizing miss I can remember with a stationary severe thunderstorm literally three miles away. Just disgusted.
smokeybandit
Looks like some spots are picking up a real quick couple inches.

Meanwhile I wasn't even in the warning in east Gaithersburg and got hailed on. I saw the storm northeast of me and took a nap, didn't realize that it was moving Southwest, haha! evaporativecooler
Had marble sized hail and cloud to ground lightening about 20 minutes ago though it's stopped for now, still moderate to heavy rain. Amazing how quick the temps dropped into the mid 60's.
batmanbrad
seems to me (a novice) that it isn't so much that the storm in MoCo is "moving SW", just backbuilding or extending itself ever so slowly SW... question is when will it stop doing that? Agree that if I had a rain gauge (which unfortunately I don't), I'd think we've received a good 1.5-2 inches since this storm planted itself over Gaithersburg/Montgomery Village area.
