We did not get "crushed" last night although it did look like it.  What we got was a nice Thunderstorm and a little over an inch of badly needed rain.  One of the best parts was the rolling thunder that came towards the end.  It went on and on.  It is hard to guage but it was well over 30 seconds and seemed more like a full minute.  Lovely high summer sound and light show.  There was no wind or hail and with the heat forecast the moisture will be short lived before it cooks away.

Despite all that rain yesterday, the pool is still 84

Our pool is above ground and cold now from the two cells that moved through Reisterstown last night.  Probably the last year for it.  We are $500 in the hole from trying to stabilize it so far this summer with no success.

A nice cool 60 this morning after a high of 83 yesterday.

I'm really rooting for a 6Z Gfs type pattern the next couple weeks. It has us teetering on a boundary with disturbance after disturbance rolling thru our region with plenty of rain chances .

It was a very pleasant and comfortable morning!

High of 130 lol

Wonder what happened?

That is weird. Sometimes as the station shelter gets old and weathered it absorbs more heat during periods where it is sun soaked, or some other environmental effect. The sensors themselves are platinum RTDs and they generally don't exhibit short term erratic behavior. They are chosen because of extremely high accuracy and stability. Could be something in the electronics- the signal conditioning that converts the change in resistance from the sensor to a proportional voltage or current. Maybe an unstable power supply.

And now it gets really boring.  And DCA blew a shot at a nice 90s streak with an 89 yesterday.

If it's going to be boring, this is the time of year to get it over with!
