Hottest day of the year right on the south shore at least as far as heat index. Worried all these clouds deminish the severe threat. Just missed the cell last night and wound up with .01 again

It was the second hottest day of the year before the clouds came in- made it to 93 here, just one shy of the 94 we hit back in June.

Highest around the area before the clouds was 94 at LGA.

It's going to be funny if Central Park doesn't hit 90.  Question for you, Chris, what's the highest LGA or JFK have ever been on a day that Central Park never hit 90? I'm not sure it's going to be easy to answer that question lol.

I think I know the answer for JFK and Central on a day when JFK hit 100 and Central Park didn't; back in early July 2010, there was a day that both JFK and EWR hit 101 and Central Park only made it to 96; that was on the first day of that super-heatwave where JFK hit 100+ on three out of four days.  The humidity was very low and it felt comfortable.
