weatherbo
Poof- and it's suddenly fall! Only 54 degrees this afternoon with upslope fog/drizzle and even thunder earlier... feels downright chilly after several days in the upper 70's to around 80. cyclone77
^Nice. That sounds pretty good to me lol. 84/74 here with full sun. One last day in the soup before some relief arrives. Looks pretty nice tomorrow and Tuesday before returning to the high humidity.

weatherbo
Another cool morning here. The low this morning of 43 marks the 7th time this month that I've had a low in the 40's, and on the 17th it was 37. So a third of the month has been in the 40's or lower. MQT also having a cool July averaging 73.8 52.8/ -2.3. Interesting also for MQT... May was -3.8, June 0.2, and with this month likely to finish on the cool side, it has been a cool, very short, and also wet summer to date. A warm and sunny August right before September's leaf change would be ideal. IMBY: 4th- 49 8th- 47 14th- 48 15th- 48 16th- 43 17th- 37 23rd- 48 24th-

Checking area temps, Detroit, Flint, Saginaw, and Ann Arbor all hit 105. Monroe got 106. Pontiac hit 104.
osubrett2
It's been a wet July and 2017 for Columbus... Quote @NWSILN Today's [7/23] rain (1.01" and counting) at Columbus (KCMH) moves July '17 into 4th place for wettest July in history. 8.30" so far. Record 12.36". As of today, it has been the 4th wettest start to the year (01/01 - 07/23) on record at Columbus (CMH) - 31.50" already!

michsnowfreak
DTW hit to 56 this morning, but most of SE MI outside the urban core was in the 40s. The usual cold spot ARB came in at 41! It's now a crystal clear blue sky day, temps raising through the 70s with very low humidity. Absolutely NO complaints.
hawkeye_wx
I finished with 0.53" of rain last evening, boosting my July total to a pretty average 5.04". I'm located right in between the s/w IA drought and ne IA flooding.

Definitely a zzzz pattern, but I welcome some quieter weather Many areas north of Fort Wayne have gone weeks without much rain to speak of, though, and I see there is a D0 on the drought monitor for a sliver of N. Indiana/S Michigan, which makes sense. May need to bump up POPs Thursday and increase cloud cover some Wed, but overall nothing too exciting for the foreseeable future. Just as expected throughout the month, temperatures failed to reach 90 degrees in July for the first time since 2014 and only the 9th time since since records began in 1893. Now, let's hope August (particularly during 2nd half of the month) doesn't go that way as with July since both July and August together failing to reach 90 only occurred three times (2004 the latest) which those three occurrences were the summers when no 90s were recorded at all those entire years.
