Solid rain event. Surprised at how little thunder and lightning there was

I think that was because the first couple of batches of rain lowered our chances and drier up the soupy atmosphere that we had earlier during the day yesterday. Also the sun had gone down by this time, which in the end resulted a much steadier rain and not so much a convectively type precipitation.

Confirmed by NWS. EF0.

Picked up only 0.46" here overnight.

Another dud for you. About 2" at home on the island.

in Hilton Head SC now. Sitting on the Oceanside balcony watching a storm out at sea. Pretty cool

I did that down in the keys.

No visible damage from Matthew?

I haven't seen any, but locals were telling me one of the harbors around here was heavily damaged.

Driving to Georgia today and there are supposed to be some nasty storms on the way there, cold front is sagging south.

Looks like an all day washout along the GA coast today.

Drove through it for a bit on our way to our current location se of Atlanta. Up here it's beautiful, cooler and drier. Luckily today was a travel day so the rain didn't affect our plans at all.
