Outside here doing a supplemental watering because I cut back on Saturday expecting rain and a shower starts, on a 0% chance day lol

* No matter anything appreciable is south

* The 20% chance tonight and tomorrow raised to 50&40%, I have no idea if that is a good or bad thing!

I am LOLing at the current radar and wondering if it will hold long enough to actually precipitate.  I had to water yesterday because I got nothing out of round 2 from Saturday (only had 0.06" early that morning and round 2 completely disintegrated just as it entered Philly).  Currently 79F & overcast (where it was overcast most of the day with a few breaks of sun mid-morning) with something on my doorstep.

Yeah round one was a trace storm.

Out of nowhere we have a round 2 and 3 to watch.

I got 0.02" very early this morning and just picked up an additional 0.02" from some scattered light rain.  Currently 74F and overcast.  One thing's for sure, the extra rain we got this past spring and latter half of summer (along with the persistent trough) has pretty much helped to suppress any upper 90s or triple digit temps this summer.  It has been great for the veggies!  Have a bumper crop of cubanelle and bell peppers coming, with a couple more months of production anticipated.

Anyone interested in Mondays eclipse.  I know there is a thread in the main forum, but I remember the May '86 partial and it was cool.  This area was on the 40% fringe side, Monday should be around 75% or better.

Yes interested! When I was young (1970 I believe) we had one that was close to 95% and I remember writing down observations -  the birds got quiet, the temperature dropped about 5 degrees, and of course it got kind of early duskish dark. Pretty cool. Not sure what to expect from 75% but I'll be checking it out.

Yeah blight and mildew is running amok suddenly, my two watering's followed by rain might have caused the perfect storm of conditions.

It's the humidity - I've got that even where I haven't watered. Need that front later next week. Meanwhile I'll take more rain, why not? Have received about 0.75" in the last 10 days, between a quarter last Friday night and 0.48" this past Tuesday, so there's room at the inn.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON
THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southwestern, central and
northwestern New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, central and
  southern Delaware and northeastern Maryland.

* From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through this evening

* Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms can be expected
through tonight. While flash flooding is not anticipated with
the initial round this morning, locally higher rainfall amounts
of 1 to 2 inches are possible, and will help saturate the ground
for the next round of storms. Torrential downpours with storms
that develop this afternoon and evening could produce rainfall
rates greater than 2 inches per hour. While the entire area will
not receive heavy rain, isolated rainfall totals of 3 to 6
inches are possible where storms track over the same locations.

* Torrential rain falling in a short period of time will result in
rapidly rising water levels along streams and creeks and in
areas of poor drainage. Significant roadway flooding is possible
  in isolated areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Basement flooding is possible due to heavy rain falling on soils
already saturated from previous storms. If your home has a history
of basement flooding, monitor your sump pump for proper operation
and if possible, direct outside water flow away from your house
