it was canceled and moved to tonight

About 5 minutes after liftoff, the rocket will deploy 10 soft-drink-size canisters, which will release barium, strontium and cupric-oxide vapor to form blue-green and red artificial clouds.

"These clouds, or vapor tracers, allow scientists on the ground to visually track particle motions in space," NASA officials wrote in a mission update. "The clouds may be visible along the mid-Atlantic coastline from New York to North Carolina."

Cant find a map like they usually put out with the view timed + after launch. Bleh

June 13th 1961 the temp in NYC reached 96...on the 14th a cold front with some showers passed and the temperature went from 88 at 1pm to 53 just before midnight with light rain falling...the 15th had a max of 66 with a northerly wind...we are on track for a possible repeat of this...

We'll  see what happens come July. Latest EPS is a back and forth pattern next few weeks as the +PDO duels with the +AMO. Heat next few days gives way to bac door cold front WAR builds west during weekend but not as hot as the last few days. Trough comes east for next week.

I was kind of surprised we couldn't break 100 with all the record heat since May 2015.

We had a lot of heat, but not extreme heat.

The consecutive days above 80 record, 2 years ago was insane.

That was an amazing and impressive stretch.  It was a very consistent heat, and the start to September 2015 was brutally hot.

71.2F Much more comfortable here in the woods then the heat domes, for whatever reason the urban heat islands have been baking more than normal.

72 here, off a high of 96

After a low of 64 let's see if we can lock up this heat wave today up here.

Fairly uniform heat around the NYC metro and interior NE. A bunch of stations reached 95 or greater yesterday.
